IN HOUSE TEST STANDARD
 
 Determination of strength

(1) Tension test

Pass the looped welding rod through the holes in a test button (through two holes diagonally opposite each other for a four hole button or through the hole in the shank of the button). Apply a gradually increasing load until the button or shank breaks and record the reading.

(2) Impact test

Specimens are subjected to impact by a pendulum of mass 53g released from a specified height (sample >15mm diameter: 125mm high; Sample <15mm diameter:
80mm high).

 

 No break, fracture or distort
Resistance to wash liquors Specimens are placed in contact with standard multi-fibre adjacent fabric and then run into a rotary mechanical washing device with detergent solution for 30 mins, rinsed and dried. The change in colour of the buttons arid the staining of adjacent fabrics are assessed with the grey scales.

 

 * colour fastness of specimens not less than 4 when assessed against the grey scale for assessing change in colour
* staining of the adjacent fabrics is not less than 5 staining of the adjacent fabric
* no distortion or other defect
Resistance to dry-cleaning solvents Specimens are placed in contact with multi-fihre adjacent fabric and subjected to agitation in dry-cleaning solvent for 30 mins, after which they are removed and dried. The change in colour of the samples and the staining of adjacent fabrics are assessed with the grey scales. * colour fastness of specimens not less than 4 when assessed against the grey scale for assessing change in colour
* staining of the adjacent fabrics is not less than 5 staining of the adjacent fabric
* no distortion or other defect
